Hi, Linda from Massachusetts. I've been knitting forever, since birth, I think. I knit addictively. Finished Xmas knitting, now making some of those things for me! I am also wanting to plan a yarn bombing for my city. That should keep me busy for awhile. I have a few goals for this year- already learned short rows, and drop stitch; with dp needle knitting, and felting ahead. Looking forward to becoming involved here. Always looking for new patterns/ideas!!!

Using mostly all wool yarns, I've been weaving these mandalas since 1967, although I took about 20 years off to paint signs and raise a family. Although I've had the website ojos-de-dios.com for a very long time, these days I mostly sell via my jaysmandalas.etsy.com online shop.

I'm Michelle. I live in the PDX area. A friend taught my daughter to knit, and then my daughter taught me. I think that's been about 5 years ago. Now my daughter doesn't knit, and I don't want to do much else ! I love Angelika' s shop ! Because of I'm not knitting, I want to be at s knit shop.....

Hi, I'm Ginny. I live in Ohio and have been knitting about 4 years. I work at the local library and our director is a knitter. She held a class and taught those of us who wanted to learn how to knit. I guess I knit just about anything, but I have trouble with lace and I need to learn how to read charts!

Hi,
I've lived in Florida all of my 67 years but had longed to learn to knit from early childhood. That dream was fulfilled nearly six years ago when my boss and co-worker, a native Michigander, took on the task of teaching me after work hours. One evening, as I struggled with some rank polyester yarn, she was playing online and found a local yarn store. (I had no idea such a thing existed!) We quickly visited, saw the wonderful array of yummy, cushy, colorful yarns I was hooked.
I generally knit scarves, hats, shawls and baby blankets but socks and sweaters are on my to-do list. So many grandchildren, so little time! :-)

My name is Charlotte and I'm a knitter. Currently I have my future daughter-in-law's wedding veil on the needles. It's Ingrid's Bridal Knot Shawl from A Gathering of Lace. I love to knit lace, socks, hats, vests. Mostly anything with fine yarn/thread.

Hi, My mother taught me to knit years ago and I had only done small projects over the years until about five years ago. Now I knit in all my free time. I just finished the Shalom Cardigan. I like to knit for my grand kids and I love to knit socks. I've got a lace shawlette on the needles as my focus project( in a room by myself so I can concentrate) and then I usually have a pair of socks going because they are such a grab and go project. I work on sweaters, children's things, hats or cowls in the evening while watching tv with my husband. I love Angelika's Yarn Store. She has a wonderful selection of everything!!!

It is a fast knit Angelika. Mine fit perfectly until I blocked it. Then it grew - a lot. I was so disappointed. I re-wet it and squished it together and let it dry. It helped but when I wore it, it seemed to grow a bit again. It is made of 40% wool, 30% llama, & 30% silk. I don't know if I should rip it all out and redo on smaller needles or what. Do you have a suggestion?

sounds like the yoke could have been firmer. it holds up the rest of the garment, so needs to be knit tight enough not to stretch in length due to the weight of the body. Your yarn blend doesn't suggest it would drop. So now I'm wondering if the fabric was too loosely knit. The pattern calls for a 7mm needle, which tells me they are using a fairly heavy bulky weight yarn.

I think you are right Angelika, I think it should have called for a smaller needle for the yoke. It is using bulky yarn. Next time I'll know. I did re wet it and put it in a garment bag then put it in the dryer for awhile and that helped to firm it up. I kept checking to make sure it wasn't shrinking or felting. I'm still toying with the idea of tearing it all out and re knitting it. I don't mind the re knitting since it was so easy but I'm dreading the tearing out because I bury my ends so well that it will be hard to get them out!
