Hi all, I am Marg and I live in Omemee, Ontario Canada. I have been hand knitting for about 60 years now, do some crocheting but my love is machine knitting that I took up in 1997 with the purchase of an LK 150 plastic mid-gauge machine. I now have 6 machines covering all of the different gauges. Also have tons of coned and skeined/balled yarn to feed my addiction. I use Knitware a lot but do enjoy venturing out on my own with a graph, measurements and some planning. I look forward to enjoying this forum. I wish one and all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year filled with wonderful knitting projects!

Introduce yourself and what you love to machine knit!! I have been machine knitting for many years. I have 7 knitting machines. Silver Reed and Brother. I use DAK 8 and love it. It is nice to have a new outlet. I have just completed 21 pairs of opal washable socks and 3 sweaters and several hats for Christmas gifts. I have several ideas to start for the 1st of the year that I can use for gifts next year. I hope I get the completed Jackie

Hi Everyone! Some of you I remember! Hey Lou Lou!
I started with the Studio SK360, then went to Brother 930, 940, 965i, as well as the KH260 & KH270, and of course dak. Now I mostly knit on the LK150, and the SK280.....when I can find time! So many ideas in my head!

Hi, I'm Marcie from northern Minnesota. I taught my self how to crochet when I was a teenager and then taught myself to hand knit. I saw my first knitting machine in the 70's, took lessons, loved it; so my husband bought me my first machine way back then. I now have a Studio 700 and a Toyota bulky. I have knit a lot of hats for various missions as well as sweaters, socks, scarves, afghans, and dish cloths. I belong to the Aitkin Knit Wits in Aitkin, MN.

Hi, My name is Patty. I live in TN. I have hand-knit since age 5, taught myself to crochet later on, and been machine knitting since the 1980's. I used to watch mama machine knit, but only watch--could not touch. When machine knitting I like to make baby items. When hand-knitting or crocheting, my new passion is ruffled scarves. Merry X-mas!!! Patty S

Hi, I'm Sally, from Ontario, Canada. I started MKing in 1992 with a Brother 940, now have a 270, 965i, another 940, and some LK100, and 150s and all the other accessories that go along with them. I am hoping to take my knitting to the next level with selling some of my creations and also trying to increase the interest through demonstrations and lessons.
I also love to crochet and am a certified crochet teacher.

Hi, I'm Kathy (formerly of Virginia but now back in San Diego). My machine knitting has been on hold for the last couple of years but I do hope to get back into it after the holidays wind down. I have mostly Brother machines from fine to bulky gauge but I also have the LK150 and a Superba 1602 double bed. Happy Holidays to all!

Hi: I'm Bernie, I live in Southern Ontario, and have several machines, Brother 970, 910, Singer 360, 155, 740, SK860, LK150 and Passap Duo80. Also had a MK70 which I sold a few months ago. All machines have all the bells and whistles and a ton of cone yarn and books. I've been machine knitting for over 20 years, also love handknitting.

Here goes ---- I'm Jan Burch, have been a machine knitter since 1983 and have been owned by a Toyota 901 w/ribber; Studio SK150 w/ribber; Brother 341 (twice); Brother 350 & 91; Silver-Reed Fine Gauge - all of which I've sold over the years and am now down to just one machine, a Brother 940 w/ribber, g-carriage, etc... I've loved them all but my favorite is the 940 but wish I still had the 901.
I don't crochet as my hands don't like it but do something similar on the knitting machine with either a lace carriage or hand manipulation. I rarely hand knit any more as, again, my hands don't like it. We do what we have to do, right?
I've know Angelika for a lot of years --- (when did you first join one of the Knitting Machine Lists, Angelika?) and met her face to face at one the Carolinas MK Seminars some years ago.
Thanks for the new Forum!

Hi Jan!
Well, ghee, I put my business online in 95, so I bet we got acquainted in the 90s! But we won't admit that . . .

I like to make hats with knitting machines. I have made some shawls, and baby afghans, but even though I have had my machines for years I am still pretty new to using them. I have brothers (electronic, punchcard, and manual) of which so far my favorites are the 350's and the 230's I have. I also have a few studios, and a couple of passap duo 80's.

Hi , I am just getting back into machine knitting after 20yrs. My last machine was a brother chunky which I found very easy. After my marriage broke up I lent it to a friend and when I got it back, she had lost most of it !! Looked up the prices on Ebay and it was cheaper to buy another one, My mistake because I bought a brother KH291 and now I am struggling. Never mind It keeps me occupied trying to master the machine. Hope everyone had a good christmas ?
